Dr Nirmal Singh visits Kreer, offers condolences to Shujaat Bukhari’s family | KNO

SRINAGAR, JUNE 18 (KNO) : Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Dr. Nirmal Singh on Monday visited Kreeri in Baramulla district and offered his condolences to the bereaved family of slain journalist Dr Syed Shujaat Bukhari. Sympathizing with the mourners, Dr Nirmal Singh said the killing of Shujaat Bukhari has sent a wave of anger and shock all across and it has been unequivocally condemned at local, national and international levels.

Dr Nirmal Singh said the killing of veteran journalist has amply displayed that violence does not stand the scrutiny of logic and rationale. He said the contribution made by Shujaat Bukhari in bringing innovations to the media in the state is historic and worth emulating for younger generations. On the occasion, Dr Nirmal Singh also interacted with the family members of Shujaat Bukhari and conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the entire family on the tragic loss. He also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
